The Constitutional Court has sided with PM Viorica Dancila on the issue of president Klaus Iohannis’s refusal to sign some of the proposals for the government reshuffle, for which the PM had notified the court. The decision requires the president to immediately respond to the PM’s demands to dismiss the Transport and Development ministers and consider her proposals for new ministers.

The Court responded to the government’s notification by agreeing that there was a legal conflict of a constitutional nature between the president and the government, generated by the president’s refusal to issue the dismissal decrees for the two ministers in question.

The decision also states that the president must immediately issue the decrees as well as respond in writing to the PM’s proposals for new ministers.
