Close to 90,000 used cars, newly registered in Romania by April

The number of registered second-hand cars reached in the first four months of the year almost 90,000 units, up 20 percent in comparison with the same period of 2015, according to AGERPRES newswire, which quoted data from the Department of Driving License and Automotive Registry (DRPCIV) ,

In April 2016, out of 23, 984 cars registered in Romania, 6, 729 were Volkswagen, an increase of 26. 37 percent in comparison with April 2015.

The second in top is Opel with 3, 946 units and an increase of 17.16 percent, followed by Ford  with 2, 768 units, gaining 24. 13 percent on last year,  BMW  with 1, 880 units, Audi 1, 845 units, , Skoda 1,256 units,  Renault 1,012 units and Mercedes-Benz 953 units.

According to a statistic of DRPCIV, the Romanian national auto park registered at the and of 2015 almost 6.6 million units of Volkswagen brand, an increase with 5.27 percent compared with the same period of lat year.

From the total number of vehicles that were on the national roads at the end of last year, almost 5.15 million units were registered in motor cars category, an increase with 5.04 percent compared with 2014 when there were registered 4.9 million motor cars.

Bucaherest had 1.19 million registered vehicles, out of which 956, 664 units were registered in motor cars category.

Reagarding the age of cars on the roads, 2.56 million cars were older then 12 years, a drop of 13.31 percent in comparison with the same period of 2014. Moreover, almost 1.89 million vehicles from the national auto park were on the roads between 6-10 years, while 1.76 million units were on the roads between 11-15 years. At the same time, almost 1.20 million cars were older than 20 years.
