Cetelem gross profit stands at EUR 2.2 million in 2011 on increased lending

Credit consumer Cetelem IFN, part of French BNP Paribas Personal Finance, reported a pre-tax profit of RON 9.8 million (EUR 2.2 million) , due to a 24 percent increase in credit volume last year. In the first quarter (Q1) of 2012, credit volume went up 15 percent against Q1 2011.

Cetelem remained leader on the Romanian credit market which rose by 10 percent to EUR 469 million last year. The company issued 53,000 credit cards last year, taking the overall card portfolio to 330,000 units.

“These indicators reflect a continuous growth of consumer trust in the quality of our services,” says Gilles Zeitoun, general director of Cetelem Romania. Cetelem aims an increase of 15-20 percent in credit volume this year, according to Zeitoun.
