Ceramics tile manufacturer Cesarom will put EUR 14 million in its Cluj Napoca plant over the next three years. “Investments will go towards upgrading the technology in the Cluj plant, expanding the production capacity by inaugurating a new line, but also towards the unit’s infrastructure and quality management,” said Christian Morath, general manager of Cesarom. With this investment the company plans to increse its market share by up to 45 percent in the next three years, increase annual production by 30 percent and intensify exports.

The largest part of the investment is expected to be taken up by the new procelain ceramic tiles line. This will be opened in 2012 and will determine a 30 percent increase in Cesarom’s annual production capacity. Consequently, from the 6.5 million sqm ceramic tiles currently produced, the company will reach in 8.5 million sqm in 2013. The new production line will also ensure the diversification of the company’s product portfolio.

Investments for this year stand at EUR 4 million, and will go mainly into modernizing the decorative ceramic tiles line, and brining technological improvements to the plant.

For this year Cesarom estimates to maintain its turnover at last year’s level of approximately EUR 38.5 million, and increase its market share to 42 percent, compared to 38 percent in 2010.

Cesarom is part of the Lasselsberger group since 2004.
