Cefin Trucks invests EUR 4.5 mln in first year as Ford Trucks exclusive importer

In its first year in Romania as Ford Trucks exclusive importer and distributor, Cefin Trucks has invested EUR 4.5 million, the company announced today at a press conference.

Out of the total amount, EUR 1.5 million were invested in order to launch the start-up, to develop the national distribution network, to assure the necessary resources in order to meet the technical standards necessary to offer Ford Trucks post-sale services in branches across the country. The rest of EUR 3 million were invested in vehicles and spare parts stocks.

The fact that the majority of them already are at their second acquistion of Ford Trucks commercial vehicles reconfirms the quality of the products and services that we offer,” Albarosa added.

After one year of activity, the National Network Ford Trucks operates 12 sales branches and post-sale assistance centers in Bucharest, Constanta, Brasov, Craiova, Arad, Deva, Bacau, Suceava, Baia Mare, Oradea, Timisoara and Cluj. In each of these centers there are, beside specialized staff, diagnosis equipment and an optimized stock of Ford Trucks spare parts.

After its official launch in May, 9, 2017, in only a few months of activity, Cefin Trucks, as importer and distributer of Ford Trucks, registered sales of 158 commercial vehicles, to about 50 clients. In this way, Ford Trucks enters the Romanian market with a market share of 2,58 percent on the segment of commercial vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of over 16 tones. The biggest impact has been registered by the sales of vehicles destined for the Construction domain, with a market share of 16,83 percent in 2017. For the sales of specialized vehicles the market share was 6,73 percent (over 35 percent of the compact garbage trucks market), and for transport it was 1,11 percent.

For 2018, the company estimates a growth of the heavy commercial vehicles market with about 5 – 10 percent and it sets an objective of 360 vehicles, which means 5 percent market share. Detailing on segments looks for a market share of over 20 percent for construction vehicles and over 9 percent for specialized vehicles.
