Ceetrus Romania continues its development in Satu Mare, where a year ago it acquired a 7 hectare plot of land, and starts the second phase of the commercial project Aushopping Satu Mare. It is an extension of the existing shopping mall, offering a strip mall on an area of 9,000 sqm, including a cinema and a community hub.
Currently, the investment amounts to EUR 10 million and will be continued with a residential project on an area of 50,000 square meters. In 2016, after the acquisition of the former hypermarket Real, Ceetrus Romania started the remodeling process, which was inaugurated in December of the same year under the new name Aushopping Satu Mare.
The new project aims to expand the retail space by 9,000 sqm, so the number of stores will almost double, from 24 to 40. The entire commercial area, which is currently made up of the retail and hypermarket gallery, will be expanded with an area of street shops, spread over 5 main anchors: 1,450 sqm dedicated to sports articles and activities, a home and deco area of 2,000 sqm, 1,000 sqm for creative activities: bookstores, toy stores, relaxation and recreation areas, for adults and children, an amphitheater and an outdoor scene as well as an exhibition space for local artisans.
1,500 sqm foodcourt
The shopping complex will also have a 1,500 sqm foodcourt, an indoor playground and an outdoor terrace. A parking lot with 1,370 spots will serve the new project.
In addition to these anchors, the strip mall will also benefit from a cinema with 5 projection rooms. One of these will be multifunctional and will serve as a space dedicated to the local community.
Ceetrus Romania’s investment is 10 million euros, and the construction site’s inauguration is the second phase of the project. The expansion of commercial space will be completed in the third quarter of 2019.
