The spring water producer Calipso registered a growth by 20 percent of the water volumes in the first nine months of 2017 year-on-year. During this period, Calipso sold over 160 million liters of water.

„Every Romanian drank at least 8 liters of bottled spring water Calipso until October 1,” said Daciana Siderache, general director of Calipso.

„The growth from these months came from the investments of over EUR 2 million implemented during this year. We aimed the modernization of production capacity, but also the expansion of our spring water distribution network. Since the first months of this year we focused on the production capacity expansion in order to make it more efficient, but also to reduce the effects over the environment by reducing the plastic quantity used for the packaging manufacturing. We succeeded to reduce the plastic waste quantity by approximately 60 tonnes/year,” said Siderache.

She adds that there was “a high increase in the packaging price determined by the oil price evolution at global level. We succeeded until now to solve internally this issue and the shelf price was not influenced very much by these fluctuations.”

Calipso company was set up in 1991 and currently comprises over 150 employees. Last year it registered a turnover of approximately RON 50 million.
