Bucharest, on eighth place in top IT&Tech destinations from Europe and on fourth on staff growth

Bucharest is on eighth place in the IT&Tech top destinations from Europe and on fourth based on the growth of number of employees in the industry, according to a report published by real estate consultancy CBRE.

Bucharest is ahead of Amsterdam, Milan, Moscow or Istanbul. During 2010-2015 period, Bucharest had a growth rate of 28.21 percent regarding the number of employees in this sector.

„The demand for office spaces of the outsourcing companies and IT are a real engine for the real estate development. Practically, half of the transactions in Romania were for these companies. We are glad to see that Bucharest and Romania in general consolidates a stable and performant reputation in Europe in technology sector and IT and we are still expecting a good dynamics of other sectors of the economy,” says Mihai Paduroiu, CBRE expert.

The growth rhythm of hirings in IT sectors in the last five years in Europe exceeded the hiring rate of the entire European economy and it’s expected that the positive tendency to continue. According to the report regarding the IT sector and technology from Europe, Berlin, Dublin, Munich or Vienna, as well as other European cities from emergent markets, such as Bucharest or Budapest, registered increasing developments in the IT industry.
