BR Awards: Discover the shortlist for the Excellence in Business Category

The BR Awards jury had its second meeting this week and is ready to announce the shortlisted nominees for the 11 award categories.

In Excellence in Business, the jury chose 5 finalists out of a large number of valid nomination submissions:

Banca Transilvania ­– as the second largest Romanian bank in terms of assets, it takes the lead on credit card transactions, with 2.2 million clients; 40 percent of active Romanian companies have an account open with BT, which facilitates their collaboration.

eMAG – the platform’s Deschide Romania programme supports small Romanian entrepreneurs by allowing them to sell products on the eMAG Marketplace with a preferential fee system. The company also made large investments into digital optimisation and the mobile app, as well as the digitalisation of the logistics system, and turned to 100 percent recyclable packaging.

Kaufland – the biggest private employer in Romania and the retailer with the largest turnover in the local market. The company made massive investments in programmes which helped local producers and farmers and created new shopping experiences by opening new store formats or redesigning old ones to optimise the customer’s journey.

Profi Rom Food – Profi is the retail network with the widest geographical coverage in Romania, and now has around 700 proximity stores across the country. It had a 33 percent business growth from 2016, inaugurated 6 new stores per week last year and doubled its logistics surface. Almost 80 percent of all the retailer’s acquisitions came from Romanian suppliers.

UiPath – the company leads the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) market with an advanced software platform that enables enterprises to deploy digital workforces across their operational business processes. UiPath has offices in New York, London, Bucharest, Paris, Tokyo, Singapore, and Bengaluru. By the end of 2017 it had over 500 employees, up from only 100 in 2016.
