BNR revises Romania’s inflation forecast to 3.6 pct at end-2018

The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has revised upwards the inflation forecast for the end of 2018 to 3.6 percent, according to the governor of the central bank, Mugur Isarescu.

The previous inflation estimate of the BNR for the end of this year stood at 3.5 percent.

By the end of 2019, BNR’s inflation estimate stays at 3 percent.

According to the central bank estimate, the annual IPC inflation rate is set to hover around 5 percent in the second and third quarters of 2018 and is set to fall starting with the fourth quarter of this year.
