The back payments on bank loans over RON 20,000 dropped by 1.2 percent in July compared to June to RON 25.2 billion, according to the data of the Credit Risk Office from the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
These back payments amounted to 9.24 percent in July of the total that clients owe to banks.
Out of the total amounts of the back payments, 88.45 percent, meaning RON 22.5 billion, are unpaid loans of over one year, a drop from RON 22.77 billion in June.
The number of clients with back payments dropped also from July compared with June, from 181,855 to 177,564 and remained under the level registered a year ago.
Regarding the individuals, the back payments for loans of over RON 20,000 dropped also in July compared with June by RON 18 million, from RON 5.78 billion to RON 5.6 billion and represented 5.5 percent of the total amount. In this case also most of the back payments (89.9 percent) represent unpaid loans of over one year.
