The Romanian software market will overpass 3 percent of GDP and the IT 10 percent in the next years, said on Tuesday Teodor Blidarus, the president of the Employer’s Association of Software and Services Industry (ANIS).

„The fact that the Romanian IT is growing is a known thing. The fact that at the end of the last year it registered a growth over 21 percent in the conditions of an annual growth in the last years over 15 percent on average is a truly exceptional thing. Our forecast is that in the following years, the software market will represent 3 percent of GDP and the IT market in general over 10 percent of GDP. We overpassed at the end of the last year EUR 3 billion and we foresee that for the next year we will overpass EUR 4 billion, “says Blidarus.

According to him, the productivity is in growth in IT sector in Romania.

“We currently have a growth over 10 percent of the productivity. In the last year it was registered a growth of this productivity, which shows the appetite of Romanians and of the Romanian market to go for services with added value. The number of the employees from the industry is growing. We estimate for 2016 that it will overpass 90,000. If we had 120,000-140,000 of employees, all of them would have work to do today,” added Blidarus, according to Agerpres.
