Bitdefender chooses Dacian symbol as new brand. Floating on the stock exchange can wait

Romanian security solutions company Bitdefender has finalized a rebranding process following which it has chosen the Dacian wolf as its new brand. The symbol together with the new logo ‘Awake’ was selected in collaboration with Brandient.

“Our technologies are used by more than 400 million people worldwide. The number of BitDefender clients is 20 times higher than the Romanian population,” said Florin Talpes, founder and CEO of the company.

According to Talpes, the company’s shareholders are analyzing the possibility of floating the company on the stock exchange. However, this will not take place next year, as initially planned.

“We want to be listed on the stock exchange when the company has a consistent value. The listing will take place both on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and on an international stock exchange,” said Talpes.

He added that for the listing to take place both ways, the local stock exchange needs to be stable. “If we were to list in 2012, we would only have chosen an international stock exchange,” he said.

Bitdefender has at the moment offices in USA in Sillicon Valley and Florida, Spain, Germany and Great Britain, as well as a customer care center in Chile.
