Bitdefender blocks attacks of Chinese hackers against American army

Romanian security solutions producer Bitdefender claims it managed to anticipate and block an informatic attacks launched by a group of hackers from China against the computers of American army officials, according to Gandul daily.

The hackers tried to obtain information about the military situation in Iran via spam e-mails that, once accessed by the recipients, allowed access to their computers.

“If usually a spam campaign comes in a significant number of messages, this campaign has reached very few victims which makes us believe the victims were picked carefully. We can speak of targeted attacks,” said Andrei Taflan, global PR coordinator Bitdefender for Gandul newspaper.
