The founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates says that he should pay higher taxes and that the Government should ask him and the other rich people to contribute with „significantly higher” amounts, according to CNN.

“I need to pay higher taxes. I’ve paid more taxes, over USD 10 billion, than anyone else, but the Government should require the people in my position to pay significantly higher taxes,” said Gates, in an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.

Gates, the second richest person in the world, after Jeff Bezos, criticized the new USA fiscal previsions, which offered fiscal facilities to corporations.

“It was not a progressive tax bill. It was a regressive tax bill,” said Gates, adding that the greatest benefit is for very rich people, not for the working class or middle class, as the Governors said.

Asked about the changes inequality in USA, Gates, who has donated more than USD 40 billion of his personal wealth to charitable causes, said: “All advanced democracies have to think about that.”

Gates is worth over USD 90 billion.
