Bibi Touring forecasts a growth of 25 percent in turnover this year at group level, and on some business directions (balneo, plane tickets, the Danube Delta, the Romanian city breaks), of up to 50 percent, the general director of the company told BR.

All the projections are estimated taking in account the economic predictability, including the Government’s promise regarding the offering of holiday vouchers, according to Adi Voican, general director, Bibi Touring Touroperator.

“Our trend of accelerated growth is also due to the fact that we’ve counted on a break even moment of the Romanian tourism even from 15 years ago and we’ve been working accordingly to that. Also the growth comes from the fact that new premium investments are made in many areas of the country (4 and 5 stars hotels – new, green-field, either renovations or modernizations of the comfort degree). Moreover, the internal plain flights bring Cluj, Oradea, Timisoara, Iasi closer to the seaside and Bucharest even closer to Baile Felix,” Voican told BR.

Moreover, Voican says that they are investing in technology, in the online B2B reservations’ systems, but also on special partnerships with the over 1,000 hotels they have in their portfolio and the 1,300 sales agencies.

“We are investing in knowing the touristic product through the Bibi InfoBreak program, through which we bring sales consultants in the resorts with the highest potential. Nevertheless, we are investing in people: courses, trainings, coaching, motivation and personal growth. We’ve double our budget for the IT and rose by 80 percent the budget for internal charter places: hotels and flights. We’ve also tripled our investments in extending our operations outside the country, naming it ‘Bibi goes International’,” continues Voican.

Over 20 percent of Romanians spent their summer holidays in Romania in 2016 and this growth trend is set to continue this year, according to the executive.

The balneo sector increase in 2016 was of 300 percent due to some special partnerships with top operators, says Voican.
