Between July 2017 and July 2018, the number of 7card subscribers with access to the network of sports and recreation centers in the country increased by 46 percent, more precisely 1,418 employers offer this benefit, a sign that companies in Romania offer sports subscriptions among the extrasalarial benefits, and 40 percent of which cover the full cost of the service provided to employees.
Benefit Seven Company, founded in 2011 by Andrei Cretu, Iulian Cîrciumaru and Cătălin Ivaşcu, introduced in Romania the concept of unique subscriptions with concurrent access to several sports and wellness halls.
Between July 2017 and July 2018, the number of 7card subscribers with access to the network of sports and recreation centers in the country increased by 46 percent, more precisely 1,418 employers offer this benefit. Of these, 40 percent fully covers the monthly cost of the 7card subscription and 12 percent in part, with companies in the software development, consulting, consumer goods and telecommunications industries.
The average cost of a 7card subscription is RON 139 in Bucharest and RON 99 in the country.
”Companies in Romania, not only international ones but also local ones, are increasingly encouraging the practice of sports, being aware that physically active employees are becoming more productive, more energetic at work and have a mood beneficial to the environment which indirectly positively influences the long-term results of each business. At the same time, introducing a subscription to a sports hall among the extrasalarial benefits helps attract and retain employees in the company, ”explains Andrei Cretu, co-founder of 7card.
At the same time, Romanian employees are also more concerned about their own health. In July 2018, the number of active users reached approximately 34,000, up 42 percent from July 2017. Most users, 40% percent of them, are in Bucharest, the following places being in Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Timisoara, Brasov, most of them being men.
In the seven years of activity, 7card service of Benefit Seven has expanded rapidly, currently reaching more than 600 halls across the country and a total of 33,683 users. For this year, the company estimates a turnover of EUR seven million, up 50 percent.
In February 2016, Sodex took over 20 percent of Benefit Seven’s shares.
