Basarab flyover opens for traffic

The Basarab flyover opened for traffic this Sunday. The flyover was inaugurated on Saturday, when pedestrians could visit the new construction and attend a parade occasioned by the opening.

The Basarab flyover is 1.9 kilometers long and is considered the widest pillar-supported urban bridge in Europe. It provides road and tram links the Nicolae Titulescu boulevard, the Orhideelor road, the Grozavesti bridge, the Vasile Milea boulevard, and Grozavesti road.

According to a press release by the Bucharest city hall, the flyover underwent all necessary tests and the results confirm the safety and stability of the construction.
