Back payments for loans in RON down by 12.5 pct in December to RON 4.78 bln

The overall value of the back payments for loans in RON for individuals and firms went down in December by 12.5 percent compared with November, to RON 4.78 billion and the back payments in foreign currency decreased by 29.81 percent to RON 4.38 billion, according to a report of the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

The overall back payments in RON reached RON 146.038 billion in December (by 0.10 percent over the value from November), out of which RON 61.8 billion was the amount taken by firms and RON 80.16 billion loans taken by individuals.

The loans in foreign currency amounted to RON 88.993 billion equivalent in December (by 3.77 percent less than November), out of which RON 44.15 billion loans taken by firms and RON 41.78 billion taken by individuals.

Bucharest citizens had at the end of December back payments for loans in RON worth 1.5 billion and for loans in foreign currency the equivalent of RON 2.18 billion.
