Romanian high school graduates obtain overall pass rate of 67.7 percent at the Baccalaureate, slightly lower than last year

The Ministry of Education has published the promotion rate (before appeals) recorded at Baccalaureate exams. The passing rate, including students coming from previous years, is 67.7 percent, slightly lower than last year’s 71.4 percent. 104 candidates obtained a maximum grade of 10.00.

The final promotion rates in previous years were 71.4 percent in 2017, 66.7 percent in 2016, 66.4 percent in 2015 and 59.3 percent in 2014.

There were 123,615 candidates present out of the total of 136,866 registered candidates, and a total of 117 candidates have been removed for fraud or attempted fraud. They will not be able to sign up for the next two sessions of the Baccalaureate.

High rates of promotion were registered in Cluj (81.14percent), Iasi (80.27 percent) and Braila (77.13 percent). The promotion rate in Bucharest is 72.86%. The appeals may still be filed today between 12:00 and 16:00. The final results will be released on Monday, July 9th.
