The Ministry of Communications will grant financing for a project that aims to bring up to date the research structure of the Babes-Bolyai university, in Cluj- Napoca. The project will be financed mostly through structural funds via the ministry’s Intermediary organism for the Promotion of Informatics Society.

The financing contract was signed last August for a value in excess of EUR 1.2 million (nearly RON 5.5 million), of which 98 percent will be non-reimbursable funds. The project should be finalized within 2 years since the contract is signed, being currently in an advanced implementation stage.

The research system will be brought up to date in order to improve interaction between the university and the students/teachers by using the IT interface to its full potential.

More precisely, an e-learning portal will be developed to ensure collaboration with other academic institutions in Romania and abroad, and to facilitate the access to information and last generation technological support. Additionally, an e-education portal will be developed for the management of the educational content and of the institution’s activities.
