Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest changes management as Linda Griffin takes over

Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest announced that Friedrich W. Niemann, the hotel’s General Manager for the past five years will leave Romania at the end of August. He has been promoted as general manager of the new Waldorf Astoria hotel in Berlin, the first newly built hotel of Hilton Worldwide’s top luxury brand in Europe.

 Linda Griffin  (in picture) will take over the management of the Hilton Hotel in Bucharest starting 1st of September 2010. Griffin joins the Athénée Palace Hilton team after serving as Cluster General Manager in Turkey for Adana & Mersin Hilton SA Hotels, in the southern Mediterranean region of Cukurova, Turkey.  

Linda Griffin is a 21-year veteran of the Hilton Worldwide and began her journey at the Hilton Toronto, moving on in 1993 to the Hilton Toronto Airport as Front Office Manager.  Linda began her international career in 1995, at the Aruba Hilton briefly,  before moving into the role of Project Manager, within the Front Office Development team, training and installing revenue systems throughout the world. Over the course of four years, she worked in Puerto Rico, Turkey, Japan, Australia, the Caribbean, Africa, Egypt, and throughout Europe.  In 1999 Linda relocated to Milan, Italy in the role of Area Revenue Manager for the Mediterranean.  

In 2001 Linda returned to hotel operations as Director of Operations and then Director of Business Development of the Athens Hilton, where she was involved in the complete renovation and the re-opening of the hotel.  Following the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, she moved to Turkey to embrace the challenge of being the Manager of the Hilton Park SA Istanbul and later on for Hilton Adana & Mersin Hilton SA’ s.
