ArcelorMittal restarts unit in Galati earlier than scheduled

ArcelorMittal Galati has announced that the blast furnace three will be restarted beginning of January next year, two weeks earlier than scheduled. The unit has been idled last month. During this period the Galati unit functioned with one furnace. The decision has been taken because of harsh market conditions in the region, especially in Turkey.

Also, ArcelorMittal Galati announces also that the start-up of blast furnace five is scheduled to be started for the summer of 2011, after relining and modernization will be completed.

ArcelorMittal operates in Romania the units in Galati, Hunedoara, the two pipes producers in Iasi and Roman and Romportmet Galati.
