Agricola Bacau group has announced a RON 240 million (approximately EUR 57 million) turnover for the first semester of 2011, 18 percent more against the same period of last 2010. For this year, the meat producer hopes to see a 15 percent increase for poultry, 19 percent for semi-prepared and ready-meal products, 10 percent for meat cooked and smoked products and constant sales for eggs.
Agricola Bacau sold 26 percent more poultry in the first six months of 2011 against a flat market, say company representatives. “If last year we sold 26,000 tones of poultry, this year we estimate that we will sell 31,000 tones. Up until now, about 20 percent of the production was exported while in 2010 total exports haven’t surpassed 12 percent,” said Grigore Horoi, president of Agricola Bacau. The company exports to Germany, The Netherlands, France, Greece and more recently the UK.
