According to an analysis done in the auto market, 90 percent of the total number of second hand cars sold in Romania were bought based on trust, namely on the information offered by the seller. A maximum of 10 percent of them had their history verified.
The data shows that cars made by Volkswagen, BMW and Audi were verified most often by clients of used cars in Romania, while only 1 percent of clients buying Renault, Dacia, Fiat or Peugeot check the history online.
Most cars that are older than 10 years are bought with no online verification of their history.
According to autoDNA.ro, used cars can be checked in four ways: online (damage history and kilometers), dealerships (service history), independent repair shops and independent mechanics.
From the total checks done last year on autoDNA.ro, the platform offered information on technical data, theft history and the list of factory equipment for almost all cars, as well as data on their history (damages or kilometers) in more than 50 percent of cases.
The online car history verification platform autoDNA.ro has been active in Romania since 2015, as a franchise, and has its central headquarters in Poland. Data about the history of used cars is acquired and updated permanently, with information from insurance companies or associations, operational leasing companies, national auto registries, independent auto evaluators and classifieds. Its purpose is to provide a history of the car that is as complete and transparent as possible. The platform also provides, at a cost, reports about cars that have been registered in Europe, no matter their production year, brand or model.
