40 of the largest Romanian architecture offices founded the Association of Architecture Societies in Romania (ASAR), whose goal is to strengthen the architecture sector by finding solutions that are economically viable.

According to a statement by the company, the association supports collaboration with all organisations and institutions involved in the building process, to implement sustainable solutions in the field and ensure a ‘climate of normality’ in the sector.

“A significant share of the GDP is represented by the real estate market. All 42 architecture practices that founded ASAR have a long experience in the sector and in managing complex projects. We are convinced that, by working together with architecture organisations, with the authorities, the developers, we can strengthen the architecture industry in Romania,” Dorin Stefan, founder of the DSBA architecture office and ASAR spokesperson said.

The short term objectives of ASAR are to build a partnership with the local and central authorities, such as the parliament, government, institutions and their agencies, based on professionalism, competency and shared objectives. Moreover, ASAR supports urgent legal changes, which are necessary, that can assure the correlation and harmonisation of the current legislation as well as the elimination of abuse.
