The Work Pact launched by CONAF and FPPG

Newsroom 30/08/2019 | 15:04

The Work Pact is the proof of entrepreneurial unity of two employers with different main objectives, the National Confederation for Women’s Entrepreneurship and the National Federation of Oil and Gases, but which have united their efforts to find viable solutions and strategies, which in the long run contributes to the reduction of the labor force deficit.

The tendency of the labor market, the lack of qualified personnel, the way of attracting specialized labor force, as well as the legislative changes necessary for a positive evolution of the labor market are just some of the topics that will be debated. We will try to find out why the number of the top foreign companies that reduce their activity in Romania is increasing and why they choose to move their production to other countries, why there is a decrease in the real profit of the companies, how to size the treasury policy and , especially, how the European funds for organizing vocational training courses can be accessed. At the same time, we will discuss the shortcomings in the field of legislation that lead to financial risks for companies, working capital and the mix of products and services.

The answers obtained from the dialogue to all these problems faced by not only the big companies, but also the small and medium investors, should clarify many of the problems that the managers have to fight every day to obtain qualified employees. in a drifting labor market due to poor legislation and labor migration.

Moreover, the conclusions of these discussions will materialize in what might be called a Memorandum of Understanding, agreed and supported by all participants in the debate. The document will represent the starting point in the negotiation with local and national decision-makers, in order to establish the ways to improve the legislation and, implicitly, the conditions on the labor market in Romania and will be presented at a Romanian Entrepreneur’s Gala.

“The diversity of the problems faced by Entrepreneurial Romania seems a long series of liberalized compromises gathered by both the political class and the entrepreneurs, by far differentiating the problems caused by the lack of labor force. Whether we are talking about lower profits and turnover or the lack of specialists, stagnation or reduction of productivity or even the restriction of activity, these are the effects caused by the labor shortage in Romania, regardless of the field of activity. At present, we can talk about a serious crisis of the labor force that affects both the Romanian entrepreneurs and the foreign investors ”, says Cristina Chiriac, president of CONAF

“People are the heart and soul of every economy. Without the right workforce, everything becomes incredibly difficult, the nuances of efficiency and business are less relevant. The current human resources crisis in Romania is the result of over 20 years of profound structural changes. It took many years to get to this dangerous point, so no solution will work miraculously. Being proactive, we can design the right strategies with stakeholders. I strongly believe that the industries themselves will need to provide solutions and become more involved in finding them. Training. Education. Exchange programs. Attractive planning for the personnel scheme. Specific programs. Well, these are just a few of the keywords. FPPG is committed to remaining a strong partner and making a decisive contribution to finding solutions today to meet tomorrow’s needs”, says Franck Neel, FPPG President.
