ICAP Romania organized the 5th  edition of the True Leaders awards, online, on December 17, 2020. The conference was co-organized by Business Review and supported by our partners: Stefanini, Endava, Coca-Cola HBC, Alexandrion Group, Alpha Bank, Digi (RCS & RDS) and our supporters: Risk Professionals Association, BRCC, NRCC, HRCC and AMCHAM.

“We are glad that we had with us the representatives of the biggest companies in Romania as partners, sponsors or guests.” – Alexandra Mehedintu, ICAP Romania (Country Manager)

The event was streamed live on ICAP Romania’s Facebook page and Business Review’s YouTube channel.

The online gala had over 200 attendees, all willing to see who the winners of 2019 were, and the eBook launched by ICAP Romania and Business Review during this event.

The awarded companies simultaneously met the following criteria:

– Ranking in the top 500 most profitable companies in Romania based on EBITDA in December 2019;

– Leaders in the industry they belong to, based on their CAEN (NACE);

– Increase in the number of employees from 2018 to 2019, which also indicates an organic growth of the business;

– ICAP rating A1 – B2, meaning the inclusion in the lowest areas of financial and commercial risk over a period of 12 months and values greater than 70 of ICAP Covid Score.

A quarter of True Leaders have a Romanian majority shareholder, while the others are split majorly between EU countries, with a minor percentage of 5% US shareholders, based on Dun&Bradstreet Global Ultimate Parent.

More details,  the list with all True Leaders winners, True Leader’s study and  the list of the top 500 most profitable companies in Romania together with the analysis of financial data, can be found on https://icap.ro/events/true-leaders-awards/

We were honored to have, for the 5th edition of True Leaders Awards, some of the leaders from different domains:

Razvan Tapu – Stefanini EMEA (Chief Digital Officer), Claudiu Constantinescu – Endava Romania (Phd, Regional Manager Central Europe), Alexander Simionescu – Renault Technologie Roumanie (Director General), Gabriel Catalin Anghel – Makita EU (General Manager for General Affairs).

The speakers maintained the participants focused, even online, while presenting their visions on the questions address by this year moderator, Claudiu Vrinceanu,  such as: “What was the key to success? How did you manage to increase the company’s profitability, the number of employees and stay in such a low risk area?”, “How has the crisis affected you? What were the biggest changes you made in 2020 to adapt to the COVID crisis?”, “What do you consider to be the biggest risk to your industry during this period?”, “How do we create a regime supported by digital transformation initiatives?”.

“Going beyond one or two pilot projects requires a concerted effort to scale a new way of working. We need to “industrialize” the ways of approaching business transformation using digital. We can do so by eliminating the misalignment between the market context and business strategy, the long feedback loops with the client, the lack of adoption of methodologies like Lean and Design Thinking. Outdated change management practices and failure to adopt product management methodology across all projects need to become obsolete.” – Razvan Tapu, Stefanini EMEA (Chief Digital Officer).
