Thousands of people took to the streets in Bucharest Sunday evening after the end of the voting in the second round of Romania’s presidential elections to protest the handling of the vote logistics for Romanians voting abroad, Mediafax reported.

For about eight hours on Sunday night people protested to support Romanian voters abroad who queued for hours to cast their vote and demand that the voting schedule be extended to allow everyone to express their option. The protest ended with celebrations of early election results which showed contender Klaus Iohannis outrunning prime-minister Victor Ponta.
