This weekend in Bucharest: Enescu Festival

The last weekend from Enescu Festival comes with beautiful concerts in the program. Friday, from 4:30 PM, the soprano Kristine Opolais, together with Aleksandra Pospisil Borodulina at piano will host a concert at the Romanian Athenaeum, with the program Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Rubinstein, Kalniņš, Rimsky, Korsakov, Kalniņš, Enescu and Dvořák.

In the evening, Orchestra e Coro dell’ Accademia Nationale di Santa Cecilia will enchant the public from 7:30 PM with the program Mahler – Symphony no. 2 “Resurrection”, led by the conductor Antonio Pappano, the conductor of Choir Ciro Visco and the soprano Rachel Willis-Sorensen and mezzosoprano Okka Von Der Damerau. The night ends with Jordi Savall and Le concert des Nations from 10:30 PM with the program “Le Concert Spirituel: Au temps de Louis XV “.

On Saturday, Mahler Chamber Orchestra will enchant the public from 4:30 PM with the program Bartók – Divertimento for strings Sz 113 / BB 118, Ligeti – Violin Concerto Ligeti – Romanian Concerto, Hindemith – “Nobilissima Visione” Suite, led by the conductor Jonathan Stockhammer.

Later in the evening, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will come with the program Haydn – Paris Symphony no. 82 “in C major Hob 1:82 (“The bear”), Mahler – Symphony no. 4 in G major, with the soprana Chen Reiss and led by the conductor Daniele Gatti.

The last day of Enescu Festival closes with the concert of Maxim Vengerov at violin and Vag Papian at piano from 4:30 PM, with the programme of Brahms, Enescu and Franck.

From 7:30 PM, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra closes the festival with the program of Weber, Enescu and Prokofiev.
