Stefanini Romania reached a turnover of EUR 47.5 million in 2018, representing a 22.4 percent increase over the previous year. The company opened a new office in Bucharest and it looks to hire more people this year in order to reach 2,000 employees, from 1,660 employed today.

“2018 was an exceptional year for Stefanini, with a significant two-figure business growth for the sixth consecutive year and 25 new customers in our portfolio,” says Marco Stefanini, president and CEO of the company. “Digital transformation has been the focus of our business decisions and strategy. Our vision has shifted from providing simple IT services to creating business solutions with our partners and customers for whom we have become a digital integrator,” added the company’s founder.

In line with its global positioning and vision, the company has also changed its main CAEN code in Romania, to 6209 – Other Information Technology Services.

At the EMEA level, Stefanini also registered an increase in 2018, 5 percent over the previous year, reaching a turnover of 106.7 million. For Stefanini, the EMEA region comprises 15 countries, some of which have commercial offices, others only service delivery operations. As it is shifting from an IT services company to a Digital Transformation company, it looks for a 15-16 percent growth in the region in 2019. The CEO also explained that the growth in volume was higher last year, but in value it keeps lower in order to allow savings to the customers.

“Romania is still the most important service center for Stefanini in the region, accounting for 44 percent of EMEA revenue. Also, about half of the region’s employees work in the 3 offices in Bucharest, Sibiu and Târgu Mureş or in the system ‘Far away’ from cities close to our main locations,” says Farlei Kothe, CEO of Stefanini EMEA.

Many of the leading positions for the EMEA region are coordinated in Bucharest, such as HR, Finance or the management of major divisions. Also, Farlei Kothe, recently appointed CEO of Stefanini EMEA, works in Romania and coordinates the regional expansion of the company from Bucharest.

The company also moved to a new office building this year, following an investment of over EUR 2 million.

“We expanded our team to the local level, but the main reason for our move was the benefits to our employees and our development plans,” explains Kothe. “We already have a Digital Transformation Center and soon we will launch an Innovation Laboratory therefore, in the near future, we will add a new floor to the already existing three, and we will hire several hundred new colleagues,” adds Kothe.

The annual increase in Stefanini Romania’s staff was 3% in 2018, to 1,660 people. The company’s retention rate has improved despite fierce competition on the market and limited recruitment offer.

“Digital transformation began in the company a few years ago, exponentially increasing our portfolio of solutions and products,” explains Marco Stefanini. “Therefore, we developed and implemented a variety of artificial intelligence solutions for business processes, based on its own AI platform (SOPHIE), which the company decided to test first internally, and only then introduce them on the market. The solutions implemented in Romania, which represented an investment of more than € 1 million, have managed to improve efficiency, considerably reduce recruitment pressure and provide more exciting and complex activities to existing employees, eliminating a lot of repetitive and routine operations . “

The Romanian employees serve over 100 customers worldwide, from countries such as USA, Australia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Canada, Russia, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia and the United Kingdom. The Romanian Office coordinates the company’s business in Poland and the Republic of Moldova and aims to expand to Ukraine in 2019 with the prospect of employing over 100 people in the first year.

“For this year, we want to increase productivity and expand the automation of our software development capabilities. At the same time, we want to offer quality, despite declining profit margins and an uncertain fiscal framework, but with this bold approach, we will strengthen our position as a key player in the business consulting market, “concludes Marco Stefanini.

Stefanini is a Brazilian company with over 30 years of experience in providing IT services worldwide, from outsourcing IT infrastructure to software development. It has a direct presence in 40 countries through the 70 offices around the world and has a portfolio of over 500 active clients. Customers come from sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, telecoms, chemicals, services, technologies, the public sector, and benefit from a full set of mature and professional services that cover the entire life cycle of an application.
