What better way to spend your weekend on the seaside than to go camping on the beach? That’s what hundreds of Romanians though this summer. Around 1000 tourists chose to replace the luxury of a 5-star hotel with the coziness and uniqueness of the Sandalandala camping site in Vama Veche this week.
Tourists enjoyed relaxing on the special beach verandas while watching the Romanian-Albania Euro 2016 football game and cheering for their team.
Among the camping’s site spots, tourists were mostly attracted by the “Seven Senses Tent” (a huge tent with bunk beds) and the old-school Pegas bikes, which were available to all tourists who wanted to take a ride around the seaside resort.
A three-day camping stay for two persons in Sandalandala costs RON 174 (the tent is not included in the price). For those who do not have a tent, there is the option to rent one of the camping site’s tents; a one bed tent will costs 210 lei for three days, whereas a double bed tent can reach up to RON 360 for the same number of days.
This is the third season for the camping site and it looks to be a promising one. Sandalandala is expecting approximately 10,000 tourists this season, estimating that the biggest wave of tourists will arrive between July 20 and August 15. During this period will be the Sunset Festival (August 11- 13), an event dedicated to urban music.
