The annual inflation rate dropped to 3.44 percent in November, from the 3.55 percent level recorded in the previous month, according to the Romanian National Statistics Institute (INS).

The National Bank of Romania (NBR) projects an annual inflation rate of 3 percent at the end of the 4th quarter of this year, while at end-2012, the rate should remain at 3 percent. In 2013, the inflation rate is expected to further decrease to 2.8 percent for the 3rd quarter.

The INS data also reveal that the average increase in prices in the last 12 months, from December 2010 to November 2011 versus the previous year, is 6.2 percent, based on the price consumption index.
