Romanian housing permits inched down 0.4 percent to 3,807 in July, from 3,824 a month earlier, the country’s statistics institute INS said Thursday.
The number of new residential building permits was 7.5 percent lower compared with the same period last year, the data showed.
Residential constructions in rural areas represented 61.5 percent of the new permits issued in July.
New permits for non-residential buildings, including administrative structures, surged to 2,789 units, compared with 753 units a month previous.
In the first seven months of the year, Romanian authorities issued 21,556 housing permits, up 0.2 percent from the January – July 2013.
