Romania’s absorption rate of EU funds up to 78.36 pct in August

The current absorption rate of European funds grew by 1.67 percentage points in August to 78.36 percent on the financial framework 2007-2013, according to the Ministry of European Funds (MFE).

The total expenditure papers sent to the European Commission (EC) overpassed EUR 14.93 billion on August 31.

The effective absorption rate, meaning reimbursements from the EC, grew by 2.45 percentage rate to 74.21 percent (EUR 14.13 billion).

On the Operational Sectorial Program for Economic Competitiveness Growth (POSCCE), the current absorption rate was 93.73 percent, on the Operational Program Technical Assistance it was 113.42 percent (including the top-up requested by the EC), on the Operational Sectorial Environment Program it grew to 78.86 percent, on the Regional Operational Program it was 85.04 percent and on the Operational Sectorial Human Resources Development it was 67.74 percent.

According to the Ministry, the deadline for the application submission, the final payment and the final expenses declaration to the Commission is March 2017.
