The energy producer Nuclearelectrica, which operates the nuclear plant from Cernavoda, posted a net profit increase by 172 percent to RON 303 million in 2017, according to the preliminary data posted on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
Also the operating revenues climbed by 15 percent to RON 1.93 billion.
The revenues from the sales of electricity increased by over 16 percent to RON 1.88 billion in 2017.
Nuclearelectrica’s sold quantity of electricity in 2017 on the regulated market amounted to 609,458 MWh, while the quantity sold on the competitive market was 10.107 million MWh.
The two units from Cernavoda ensure 20 percent of the overall Romania’s electricity production.
The main shareholder of the company is the Energy Ministry, which owns a stake of 82.49 percent.
