Nuclearelectrica plans investments of RON 1.8 bln up to 2020

Energy producer Nuclearelectrica, which operates the nuclear plant Cernavoda, has planned investments of RON 1.8 billion up to 2020, from own resources, out of which the budget for investments for this year reaches RON 515.25 million, according to some documents approved by the shareholders and published on the site of the company.

The investments for the next year reach up to RON 642.3 million, while the investments budget for 2020 reaches RON 661.55 million.

The amount will go to the two nuclear plants from Cernavoda, as well as in the company’s headquarter.

During the three years, around RON 170 million will be allocated for studies on the expansion of first plant activity by upgrading the the atomic pile and the retechnologization of the main systems. The studies have to be finished until 2021.

Also, over RON 52 million will be invested in the continuation of intermediary storage of burned fuel construction, which will be finished in several stages until 2047.

For the update and expansion of the physical protection system, Nuclearelectrica will invest in the next three years over RON 100 million.

Other 92 million will invest in the improvement of the nuclear plant from Cernavoda, respectively of the nuclear security functions in the case of  the events outside the projection bases.
