Minimis scheme for wine exporters starting October 15

The government approved on yesterday the establishment of a minimis aid scheme for the promotion of wines in third countries.

”At the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, a minimis aid scheme was introduced for the promotion of wines in third countries. To help wine producers to increase the attractiveness of the promotion and for better absorption of the European funds for this measure, it was proposed and approved this aid scheme, “said Nelu Barbu, government spokesman after the meeting.

He said it was to provide financial support from national funds of up to 30 percent.

”Thus, the total approved support for the promotion of wines on third markets grows to 80 percent – 50 percent is European money and 30 percent is national money and the total amount of the de minimis aid scheme, state contribution is EUR 1,5 million and RON 7 million lei respectively and ensured within the limit of commitment credits approved in 2018 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, ”added Barbu.

The aid scheme will apply to promotional programs submitted after the entry into force of the decision by October 15, 2018, within the allocated budget and the beneficiaries are wine producers who promote wine to third countries through the promotion program.
