Before joining EY, Massimo Bettanin was the Dangote Industry Limited Health & Safety, Social and Environment Head and a Senior Partner within ERM South Africa, based in the Johannesburg office and he was the head of ERM Southern Africa’s Performance & Assurance, Transaction Services and Sustainability & Climate Change teams. He has more than twenty years of experience in a wide range of environmental, health & safety and social compliance and performance management.

He has comprehensive experience in business strategy development, budgeting, team management and risk management. He has gained a good knowledge of change management principles and has worked in numerous multicultural environments. As consultant, he has worked for several multinational companies, primarily in the oil & gas, mechanical, household appliances, mining, chemical, pharmaceutical, metal, waste and food industry.

After his keynote speech, titled “Towards Net Zero Economy: an Opportunity for the Power Sector?”, Bettanin will also join the first panel of Day 2 (September 29), dedicated to the Power Sector, as a speaker.
