How many employees do you have currently in Romania?

Currently, GEZE Romania has 12 employees and will increase their local team by the end of 2016. In Romania and Moldova it operates through a network of over 25 dealers and partners.

How do you see the constructions market in Romania?

The main segments of the market where we operate, namely retail and office have increased in the last two years. We are pleased also to note that, in addition to this quantitative growth, there is a qualitative growth of retail and office projects. A growing number of projects were delivered on the premium market, certified green projects, where we could deliver top products and systems from our portfolio.

How is Romania compared with other markets where GEZE is present?

If we compare our subsidiary with the neighboring countries from Eastern Europe and the Balkan area, GEZE Romania had the largest development of turnover and other key performance indicators in the last three years.

Where do you estimate the demand will come from in the next year?

Currently, most of our customers come from the retail segments (about 40% of sales), office (28%) and the rest from the hotel industry and private medical segment.

GEZE portfolio has developed lately, including landmark projects such as Parklake Mall Bucharest, City Park Mall Constanta, Globalworth Offices, United Business Center Timisoara & Iasi (UBC), Romexpo, retail chains Lidl, Profi and Penny Market, Hermes Campus Office buildings and Electronica Office Park (Metroffice), and until the end of 2016 will join the Veranda Mall Bucharest, Openville Offices Timisoara, Shopping City Mall Piatra Neamt, Siemens Continental Offices Timisoara and other important projects in the country.

As for the next period, we will focus on delivering ‘tailor made’ solutions for projects such as premium office buildings, networks of hypermarkets, shopping centers and private medical assemblies, but also for the renovation and modernization of existing buildings. A higher demand is estimated to come also from more sophisticated projects oriented towards the latest technologies that certifies sustainable buildings, barrier-free access solutions or elements with a minimalist design. Customers began to require systems that meet the safety standards of the European Union and are willing to invest more in premium systems.
