FDI in Romania up by 11 pct in the first nine months to EUR 3.14 bln

Foreign companies made investments in Romania worth EUR 3.14 billion in the first nine months of the year, a growth by 11.2 percent compared with the same period of 2015, according to the data of National Bank of Romania (BNR).

In the first nine months of the last year, the foreign investments were EUR 2.82 billion, based on the revised series of BNR.

„The direct investments of non-residents from Romania amounted to EUR 3.14 billion, out of which the capital investments (including the estimated net reinvested profit) amounted to EUR 2.75 million and the intra-group loans amounted to a net value of EUR 393 million, ” said BNR.

According to monthly revised series published by BNR, the foreign investments were EUR 2.74 billion after the first eight months.

In September, the FDI value was around EUR 402 million.

Last year, the FDI in Romania amounted to EUR 3.46 billion, shows the data published in September by BNR.
