EvoMag 2018 sales were up by 15 percent to EUR 21 million compared to 2017. The average order was up 5 percent, to RON 730, while 40 percent of orders were placed on mobile devices. The increase in sales was due to higher demand for electro-IT products and also to the diversification of the portfolio.

In 2018, the most sold products were mobile phones, tablets and laptops. At the same time, substantial sales growth was also recorded on television and sports & fitness categories.

“We recorded a higher customer demand for some starters last year, and we diversified our product categories and negotiated better prices. For the current year, we want to develop new product categories, such as sports and fitness, all that means products for a healthy lifestyle and home and garden. Obviously, we are pursuing the growth of the other categories and we will continue to bring the latest products from the already established categories,” says Mihai Patrascu, CEO of evoMAG.

For the current year, EvoMag estimates a turnover of EUR 25 million, up 20 percent over last year by developing categories of existing products and creating new ones through continuous improvement of customer service and by strengthening their relationship with them.

At the same time, EvoMag estimates for this year a significant increase in HEALTH product categories for health and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. And here comes products from the category of small appliances, for example, or those for health monitoring. Thus, the purchase of a kitchen robot, a mixer or a juicer, etc. is well suited for the purchase of a fitness bracelet, a treadmill, or an electric scooter.

“We notice a strong tendency towards the acquisition of products dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and a growing concern of Romanians in this direction. If last month I noticed a preference for our customers to products for maintaining health, especially in the category sports and fitness, this month we see an increasing interest to small appliances, to those products that can facilitate, for example, preparing food, healthy natural juices, fruits and vegetables, etc.,” says Mihai Patrascu.

In supporting this direction, EvoMag runs the Winter Black Friday campaign until February 28th. Thus, over 8,000 products will benefit from discounts of up to 70 percent.

Top 2018 sales

Last year, EvoMag recorded significant increases in sales of mobile phones and TVs. TV sales have also been backed by the World Football Championship last year, with sales up 20 percent higher in this category. Also, sales of sports and fitness products almost doubled last year, due to the availability of a growing number of products, increased living standards and advantageous offers to customers.

The average order price increased last year by about 5 percent to 730 lei, averaging almost 2 products per order.

Last year, the number of orders made on mobile devices (phones and tablets) rose to 40 percent of the total number of orders placed, up 10 percentage points from 2017, approximately 30 percent of the total of orders last year being paid with the card.
