CIS GAS, a major player in the Romanian natural gas industry, celebrates 30 years of activity, launching the “Generation of Energy” campaign. In this anniversary context, Sebastian Călugăr, CEO CIS GAZ, announced the move to a holding management system: CIS GROUP.

The “Energy generation” campaign is built around three values of the company – family, evolution and integrity, being sustained by the anniversary logo, which also speaks in the name of CIS GAS mission. On the one hand, the double flame emphasizes the transition of values and experience from one generation to antoher, and on the other hand it represents the symbol of infinite, which insists on the ability to evolve and continues to adapt business to the dynamics of the industry.

“If a few years ago we were talking about a transition between generations, we can now talk about a transition from a local player to a regional group of companies with an opening to the international market. We have always been a company geared toward innovation and performance, and we have always managed to strengthen our position in the energy market. The success of our development in these 30 years of activity is entirely due to the people next to us, our team, partners, customers, suppliers and beneficiaries, and to the long-standing relationship with them,” said Sebastian Călugăr, CEO of CIS GAZ and CIS GROUP.

Since 1991, the construction and assembly division of the company has carried out over 1200 km of gas transmission and distribution pipelines, more than 100 gas measurement and regulation stations, has rehabilitated almost 150 km of pipelines by means of re-training methods, as well as numerous surface equipment for compression and drying natural gas.

The performance of the Romanian company with 100% private capital is also generated by the accelerated development of the natural gas supply division, set up in 2005 against the background of the liberalization of the market. This is reflected in the results achieved, the company currently having more than 3000 business and end customers, with an annual volume of approximately 180 million cubic meters of traded natural gas.

The company is currently undergoing the introduction of a new organization system, holding type: CIS GROUP. The group’s plans include the development of the project portfolio in the CEE region, especially in the activities of natural gas trading and construction – plumbing and natural gas installations, but also the development of the portfolio of business and retail clients for the supply of natural gas and electricity in the region.

“At the same time, we have started a process of restructuring the company and we will move on to a new organizational system, one of the holding type: CIS GROUP. We will also add new branches of activity, but we will certainly remain in the energy industry,” added Sebastian Călugăr, CEO of CIS GAZ and CIS GROUP.

The first steps have already been taken, with the holding extending its activity to the Republic of Moldova through its subsidiary CIS GAS TRADING, based on obtaining the license to supply natural gas and electricity from the national Agency for Energy Regulation.

The CIS Group of companies plans for 2022-2024, among other things, the development of new solar power production capacities, the complete digitization of supply activity, but also the development of new natural gas distribution systems, the supply of compressed natural gas (CNG) to industrial consumers.
