Enel bids to become electricity provider for Magurele Laser

Enel Energie Muntenia has submitted the only offer for providing electricity to the Horia Hulubei National Physics and Nuclear Engineering Research and Development Institute in Magurele, which includes the ELI-NP system, the most powerful laser in the world, according to Profit.ro.

The contract is estimated at RON 18.5 million excluding VAT and requires the supply of a maximum quantity of low and medium tension electricity of 80,560 MWh.

CEZ Vanzare also registered in the auction, but the company did not submit the required documents by the June 28 deadline.

The project is financed through EU funds and its total cost is EUR 356 million. The construction in Magurele, Ilfov county, started in 2012 and will be completed this year.
