Call for Leaders – 3Q is a new category where Business Review features our 3 questions with some of Romania’s top business professionals, bringing a positive, insightful, or otherwise constructive view of their markets in the context of the current crisis.

Current conversation: Ivan Lokere, CEO, Alinso Group

What are the measures you took for your business during this period?

The health of our employees and customers is a priority for Alinso Group. The company and our staff have taken the appropriate  prevention measures to ensure a safe working environment for our employees and business partners. Alinso Group’s PWP Bucharest North business park is fully operational, and we are working closely with our customers to service their specific needs in these exceptional times, to ensure business continuity and long-term growth.

What’s your advice for business leaders regarding this crisis?

This crisis will accelerate some trends that started already before. Of course, people will continue to work and spend money, but a major shift in spending patterns and priorities will occur. There is a promising future at the other side of the valley, but this future will be different than the current one.

Preparing your business to be amongst the winners of the future means understanding how the post-COVID world will look like. Therefore, it is important for businesses to remain agile and to adapt to changes. Building and keeping trust of the people in the company and your business partners will remain key, as trust is the foundation on which a company can flexibly navigate through this fastly changing environment.

Not in the least, business leaders should think what the impact of deglobalization and localism will be, including the acceleration of Artificial Intelligence and remote technologies in general, and prepare for a touch free environment as the new “normal”. “Less is more” might be another trend that we see accelerating. The current lockdown period allowed people to think what is really important and consequently will pay more attention for unique quality rather than quantity of things.

What’s the most positive business news you’ve read today and want to share?

We noticed many positive news, especially in the way companies and societies showed solidarity with those needing help, a proof that a crisis can bring out the best in people.
