The Call For Leaders interview series reached its third phase, with the established 3Q format having received a revamp for 2021. The original Call For Leaders 3Q and its sequel, Call For Leaders – Back in Business, have seen us talking to quite a diverse roster of business leaders in Romania, representing top companies and various industries. In this episode, we sat down with Cătălin Bordei, Managing Partner at Innobyte, who had some very interesting answers for the #C4L2021 3Q.

  1. After a difficult 2020 year, how do you think business optimism will be influenced in 2021?

Optimism plays a crucial role in 2021, as the pandemic continues to be in the middle of the conversation worldwide, on personal and business levels. As 2020 has shown us, we have to be prepared and open to whatever surprises the future may bring. The long term planning is not something that works, unless we embrace change as part of every plan.

The pandemic has brought many changes in our everyday life, not only in the healthcare ecosystem but also in consumer habits and mentality. According to a recent study conducted by Magento, the leading worldwide eCommerce platform, almost 55% of consumers now shop online more frequently than they did before the pandemic. They are more digital, selective, and demanding than ever before, and they have more access to information. This way, businesses need to adapt themselves to remain competitive.

Looking forward, what can we expect from 2021? A lot of opportunities are waiting for us. It will be a year dominated by digital transformation, change, continuous improvement, focus on global health, and preparedness for what the future will hold.

  1. How will your company be involved in the development of your industry, and also in the recovery of other sectors which were affected by the pandemic?

Despite a challenging year for many industries in 2020, the pandemic has accelerated the eCommerce industry growth. It’s going to be another intense year for eCommerce, as things are moving faster than ever.

At Innobyte, we aim to maximize our partners’ business potential by developing secure, scalable and innovative eCommerce solutions. Additionally, we support them with business and technical consulting services, security and code audits, performance analysis and optimization for their online stores.

We understand that every company has unique business needs and comes with some challenges. No matter if we are talking about start-ups or companies with an existing digital presence on the market, our mission is to play an essential part in their online journey, by helping them grow through the right technology and business solutions.

  1. How will you approach innovation and new investments in 2021?

In a competitive market, the only way to survive and make your business remarkable is to adapt to the market changes quickly and provide that “wow” element. This way, innovation plays a meaningful role in eCommerce, as well as in other sectors. We can talk about a platform-level innovation, concept, products, marketing campaigns, logistics, day to day operations or services.

With more and more online stores out there, to stay on top of the competition, eCommerce businesses need to make sure that their platforms run seamlessly. In 2021, it is crucial to have a secure, fast, optimized, and good performing online store. It is also essential to follow the market trends, keep an eye on the competition, and carefully listen to your clients’ needs.
