Starting with January 1st, Mercedes-Benz will operate in Romania through two companies, Mercedes-Benz România and Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Buses România. Martin Schulz will continue as CEO at Mercedes-Benz România, while Valeriu Zaharia will be the new CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Buses România.
The new structure follows the global strategy of the Daimler AG group for developing a sustainable future for the mobility sector. Thus, the Cars & Vans divisions will remain under the Mercedes-Benz România structure, while the Trucks & Buses divisions will form a new organization, Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Buses România.
“Because of our new corporate structure, we can better respond to the needs of our clients and to the evolution dictated by the future mobility environment. We will continue our activities under the same values and principles and we will be better adapted for the evolution of business, industry, and mobility.” Says Martin Schulz, CEO Mercedes-Benz România.
“The new structure enables us to be more flexible and efficient in our operations, contributing to the growth and development of the local business environment. It’s vital to concentrate on our client’s success and to inspire them with interesting and innovative products and technologies.” Adds Valeriu Zaharia, CEO Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Buses România.
Project Future – a strategy for sustainable business
The organizational change follows the line of Project Future, the global strategy of the Daimler AG group. As of November 1st, 2019, the Group was restructured into three separate entities: Mercedes-Benz AG, which coordinates the cars and vans production, Daimler Truck AG, which brings together the Trucks & Buses portfolio and services, and Daimler Mobility AG, responsible for financial services and new potential business zones.
