Romania’s optional (Pillar III) private pension funds’ assets up 18 pct year-on-year in May

Optional (Pillar III) pension funds in Romania had assets worth over RON 2.21 billion on May 31, 2019, up by 18.1 percent compared to May 2018, according to Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) data.

State securities held the highest share in the assets, of RON 1.24 billion (56,34 percent). In second place were shares, with RON 489.2 million (22.13 percent). Corporate bonds ranked third in this respect, with RON 208.16 million, or 9.41 percent of total assets.

According to ASF data, the value of total pension fund assets in Pillar III had reached RON 2.21 billion on 31 May 2019, while the net asset value was RON 2.2 billion.

Optional pension funds had 484,190 contributors on May 31, of this year.

Pillar III pension funds include: Aegon Esential, Azt Moderato, Azt Vivace, BCR Plus, BRD Medio, NN Activ, NN Optim, Pensia Mea, Raiffeisen Acumulare and Stabil.
