Compulsory private pension funds (Pillar II) assets reached RON 52.26 billion on April 30, up 21.42 percent compared to the same date of 2018, according to Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) data.
Government securities hold the largest share of assets, of RON 30.06 billion, respectively 57.52 percent form total assets. On second place are the shares, with RON 9.96 billion (19.07 percent). Bank deposits ranked third, with RON 4.75 billion or 9.10 percent.
The value of the total pension fund assets in Pillar II was RON 52.2 billion, on April 30, 2019, and the net asset value was RON 52.2 billion.
Compulsory private pension funds had 7.32 million participants. According to ASF data, contributions of 7,192 million participants have been collected since the start of the system.
In February 2019, contributions were made for 3.89 million participants, and no contributions were paid for 3.4 million.
