The current president of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), Leonardo Badea, was voted today by the Parliament for the position of president of the institution.
Deputy prime minister Viorel Stefan, joined the ASF chairmanship race, but he lost the support of PSD leader Liviu Dragnea.
Yesterday, in the specialised committees, 39 PSD and ALDE MPs voted for Leonardo Badea, the 21 opposition MPs voting against, while for Viorel Stefan there was only one vote for and 60 abstentions. Most votes for the first vice-president’s position were received by Elena Doina Dascalu, backed by the ALDE.
For the position of vice-president for financial instruments Marius Bota received the most votes and Cristian Rosu was approved for the position of vice-president of the insurance. Stefan Daniel Armeanu will be vice-president for the private pension sector.
The most votes for non-executive membership were received by Birtalan Joszef, Gabriel Gradinescu, Aura Gabriela Socol and Ovidiu Wlassopol.
Candidates who have received the most votes will be proposed for the final vote in the Chamber of Deputies, which will be held tomorrow.
